Small Business Health Insurance Webinars with the Kansas SBDC

Why Small Business Health Insurance Feels So Hard

The owner of 316 Health Insurance started out as a solopreneur. As the video puts it, the business began with a freelancer and a cell phone. From there came the first employees, the first rented space, and eventually a multi-state organization.

Along the way, one lesson stood out: being a small business owner is not for the faint of heart. It's difficult, and owners run into challenges they never knew they would have to face.

The Questions Every Owner Runs Into

Benefits are one of the toughest areas. Owners ask how to build the right culture. They ask how to offer benefits that employees actually find valuable. Health insurance sits at the center of both, and the system around it can be confusing to work through alone.

That is where 316 Health Insurance wants to be your guide. Our team in Wichita, KS helps untangle the options so the decisions feel manageable.

Four Webinars with the Kansas SBDC

In October, 316 Health Insurance is partnering with the Kansas Small Business Development Center (SBDC). The goal is to empower young businesses, entrepreneurs and small businesses to offer quality health insurance benefits to their employees.

What the Sessions Cover

The series unpacks how to do health insurance for your small business. Topics include:

  • The Affordable Care Act (ACA) and the federal subsidies that may be available to help your employees purchase health insurance on their own
  • Level funded plans, how they are put together, and where the savings really are
  • A dedicated session for solopreneurs, or businesses of one, on solving the health insurance problem

These topics reflect the kinds of Small Group Insurance, ACA Marketplace and Self-Employed Insurance questions we help with every day.

Building Toward the Benefits and Wellness Expo

All four webinars lead up to the in-person Benefits and Wellness Expo hosted by the SBDC on October 30th. It is a chance to carry what you learned into a face-to-face event.
