To be honest with you, after doing this for 23 years in the business, when I see the clickbait headlines both on the right side and the left side of the aisle, both of them infuriate me because none of them seem to offer the truth.
I really, really, really wish that I could take all of the politics out of the health insurance conversations that have been all over the news lately. To be honest with you, after doing this for 23 years in the business, when I see the clickbait headlines both on the right side and the left side of the aisle, both of them infuriate me because none of them seem to offer the truth. If you watch the news lately, you'll get the idea that somehow, in some way, there's millions of people that are going to lose their health insurance, and that's just simply not the case. Nowhere on any law in any place is it saying that people are losing health insurance coverage.
It's just not true. And then you'll see other articles that say, oh my gosh, for millions and millions of people, the cost for health insurance is going to become unreasonable for them, which is also kind of misleading because the truth of the matter is the cost for health insurance has always been incredibly high since the passing of the Affordable Care Act in 2010 because it covers everybody the same whether they have pre-existing conditions or not. The cost for health care has always been ridiculously high. What's changing is the subsidy dollars that have been made available to people to help them pay for the high cost of health insurance.
So regardless of your political affiliation, left, right, up, down, don't care, what you need to do is dig down to find the truth about what's going to happen in 2026 as subsidies fade away to go back to pre-COVID levels. Don't purchase health care through fear. Don't jump on the political bandwagon that speaks lies and falsehoods. Instead, find the truth, make informed decisions, don't panic.
The system isn't changing much and there's always an opportunity for you to figure out how to solve your health insurance needs.
